Why do you care for other peoples pets?

Is it because you looooooove puppies and cute little fur babies of all kinds? 

Or is it because you feel the satisfaction of someone entrusting you with their home and pets and you taking better care of them than you might care for your own? 

Do you prefer a client leaving you a 600.00 dollar check in appreciation for your service or a plate of cookies and a note saying, "have fun with Fido."?

Which client would you do a better job for?

Who really loves pets more?  The person who wants to rub bellies and talk baby talk to
animals for whatever they can get or the person who knows the value of client retention and goes above and beyond making sure your pet is safe, has a clean environment, and makes clients homes look better than when they left? 

The latter.  Because they are being paid well and want to continue being paid well. 

"Does my little sweet fur baby want a treatsie weatsie.......?"

Yeah he does.  It's called money.  And he'll be so happy he'll be back over and over to get some more.
