Grey Hair Equals Green Pockets

Marketing is expensive.  No matter the medium, you are going to pay for exposure.  Pet sitting businesses in their infancy don't typically have piles of cash to put into a marketing campaign. Even if you do have a marketing budget, how do you know that your dollars are being used in the most efficient manner?  How do you know your message is getting to your target market?  Wait, what's that, a target market.

If it just dawned on you that you needed to identify your target market then stop what your doing.  Do not spend money on advertising if you don't have a reasonable idea that your message is getting to the right person.

So who is the right person or group of people who need my service?

There is no perfect answer.  You may have clients of all different shapes, sizes, colors and hairdos.  But when it comes to "bang for your buck" spending on advertising I would highly recommend focusing on empty nesters.  This demographic has the most potential to fill out a lucrative client base.  Think about it.
Empty nesters usually share some pretty interesting characteristics:
1.  Old enough to have acquired wealth
2.  Kids out of the home
3.  Freedom to travel
4.  Past the point of asking neighbors to help
5.  Pets have taken the place of kids
Enough said.  Grey hair leads to green pockets.
