BIG PICTURE PRO.

Walking dogs and caring for critters is a glorious thing when its 80 degrees and sunny outside.  Birds are singing and flowers are chirping.  The grass is green and the sky is blue.  Your way ahead on your tan for the year, your fit and you just got paid to walk a beautiful golden doodle around the neighborhood.  You'e got your company logo'd polo, your favorite shorts and a slick pair of sneakers on.  Did I mention the tan.  You take a brief second to check the time on your phone and you are alerted of a significant deposit made to your bank account.  Bills are paid for the month plus a little extra for fun stuff.

Everyone else you know is stuffed into a dress shirt, too tight slacks, and rotting away under florescent light.

That is the secret life of a pet sitter that we want no one knowing about. Why?.  Because everyone would want to be a pet sitter and that's bad for business.

But then something happens.  The clouds roll in on the horizon.  Your phone buzzes again and your best client needs a visit late Saturday night.  But you had plans to go out on the town.  Your part-time person has already asked off.  Damn it.  It starts ro rain and the Doodle dumps in the neighbors yard.  You forgot your bag!  He never poops.  Your phone buzzes again.  The client twenty minutes out of the way is running late and needs you to go back by.  You just left.

STOP.  DON'T PANIC.  DO THE WORK.  Take care of your clients.  It's one weekend.  Learn from your mistakes. Make a plan to be prepared next time.  LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE.  SET GOALS.  BE A PRO.
