A Profitable Pet Sitter has GOALS

New Year & everyone is talking goals. What goals will make you the next Profitable Pet Sitter?

If you are listening to the podcasts this week you heard about Lead goals vs. Lag goals.

Remember which ones you need to focus on? Yes, you need both.

You need Lead goals that tell you what to do and lag goals that measure the success of what you did.

Which can you control? Right, the lead goals are the only ones you can truly determine whether you meet.

You will get better at determining what actions cause what results by tracking both lead and lag goals.

Don’t forget all the goals need to be smart goals.

Specific

Measurable

Achievable

Relevant

Time-bound

While you are getting started, here are some lead goals to shoot for:

I will visit ____ # of veterinarian clinics by Feb 14th.

I will place business cards in my wallet, car, tennis bag, diaper bag, _________where ever you might need one when a conversation about pets may occur and hand it out or post on community board whenever the opportunity arises.

I will ask ___ # of clients for a review. (make it all of them!)

I will write a response to 3 frequently asked questions by January 31st.

I will review my Google Business profile by March 31 and schedule quarterly reviews.

I will set up a separate checking account to use to keep my business related money separated from my other money by Monday.

Here are some lag goals that may result from your efforts.

Gain ____ # of new clients this month.

Earned ____# of reviews this month.

Earned $____ this month.

No matter which goals you shoot for, or which ones you meet, you must must must track your goals. No one else will see them. You don’t have to be ashamed if you planned to visit 9 vet clinics but only made it to 6. You can always do better next time!
